The S. Giovanni district is a very central and well-served neighborhood. It is a district that still maintains some true and authentic features of “Roman style” that are being lost in the exclusively tourist areas. In fact in this neighborhood live together Romans and tourists and for this reason it is generally characterized by a good quality / price ratio (market, bars, restaurants …).
In the neighborhood there are restaurants and bars famous throughout the city where many Romans and tourists arrive in the evening because they find quality and good price. The apartments are all very close to the main square (King of Rome) where is the Metro, but are located in adjacent streets less busy.
The presence of shops, restaurants, bars and delicatessen including renowned and traditional activities in the immediate vicinity, some of which are attractive for many Romans and tourists, make this district alive and always pleasant to attend until late evening. In the square there is also a park for children. With the Metro you can reach all the places of interest in a few minutes:
- Termini Station and Santa Maria Maggiore – 5 minutes
- Piazza di Spagna (spanish steps) – 8 minutes
- Vatican (stop “Ottaviano”) – 15 minutes
but if you do not want to take public transportation, walk through beautiful streets with shops and monuments you can get to the historic center in a few minutes (for example, walking : Apt-Colosseum in less than 20 minutes; monumental Basilica of S. Giovanni in Laterano, 8 minutes).
If you prefer to reach the apartment from Fiumicino Airport or from Termini Station as an alternative to the bus or to Train + Metro, I can book for you a convenient and elegant private shuttle (car, mini-van, van). In Piazza San Giovanni the characteristic local market (food and clothes); the San Giovanni market in particular (“Mercatino di via Sannio”) is famous in the city for the sale of leather jackets and shoes.
The presence of the Metro a few meters from the building makes accessible in a few minutes all the places of tourist interest.
The historic center, the monuments and all the great attractions can be reached in a few minutes, but if you are tired after a day around the city, in the neighborhood you can find all kinds of entertainment: restaurants, pubs, pubs, open also until night!
